What is
it?: The
Crystal Ball is created by T. Horton aka Lost Dragon. The Crystal Ball is
a program that runs in the background on your computer and checks our news pages
to see if any new news has been posted. When it finds new news it alerts
you by flashing in the task tray.
How do I
install it?: Download the program.
Save it to it's own directory or on your desktop. Double click it.
It's now installed and running. It should start flashing right away
because as far as it knows the news on the site it new.
What if
I'm only interested in one of your news pages. Can I set it to ignore the
others?: Yes. By default it
will watch for news on all of our news pages. But if you want to can tell
it to only watch one or two of the news pages.
If I use
it will it slow down my system?: No.
The Crystal Ball uses 4.8mb of memory and .001 CPU time. The Crystal Ball
will not lag your system or any games when it is checking the site.
How often
does it check?: The Crystal Ball
checks our site every 15 minutes. If you are not connected to the internet or
for some reason out site is down it will not error. It will just try again
after you are online again.
The
Crystal Ball is flashing. What do I do?:
Great! There is new news on the site. Just double click the ball and
it will take you to the news page that is updated. Double clicking
the ball when it is not flashing will take you to our home page.
