Pirates of the Burning Sea, or PotBS, was developed by Flying Labs Software and produced by Sony Online Entertainment. This game features amazingly deep strategy as you fight for control of the high seas! Featuring a unique take on the MMORPG genre, Pirates of the Burning Sea has won critical acclaim for its intricate economy and gorgeous graphics.

Players in Pirates of the Burning Sea can make up to six characters per server, each of these characters is captain of their own ship and fights for their respective chosen nation. As the character grows stronger, the avatar gains "ranks" (similar to levels in other MMORPGs). Through gaining ranks, the player unlocks skills, powers and can access stronger and better ships. The maximum rank in Pirates of the Burning Sea is 50.
