Welcome to Lord of the Rings Online - LotRO

Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, based on the popular works of J.R.R. Tolkien, places you in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and allows you to participate in the story, cities and culture surrounding the Fellowship of the Ring story. Lord of the Rings is published by Turbine entertainment, makers of DaoC and the upcoming Warhammer Online MMORPG.

The first expansion for Lord of the Rings Online was announced on 3/14/08, it is named Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria, and will continue the Fellowship of the Ring story through the fabled mines. This expansion will feature a raise in the level cap to 60, two new classes and an improved item advancement system. Turbine has also released many free content updates, called "books". These updates include new skills, quests, quests, instances and areas.

There are four playable classes in the Lord of the Rings Online, Man, Elf, Dwarf and Hobbit. There are currently 7 classes and the large amounts of customization allow you to create the exact character you want to play.

Lord of the Rings Online is one of the most successful recent MMORPGs to come out, and has been widely received as an excellent interpretation of the Lord of the Rings mythology and story. If you haven't tried Lord of the Rings Online yet, there has never been a better time than now.
